The Quick Open Reverse was originally a syllabus Quickstep Figure that has been adapted for use in the Waltz. There are three principle variants of the Quick Open Reverse: A. Quick Open Reverse (with Bridge Step) Begins with the Man's RF forward and has four total steps. B. Quick Open Reverse from PP Begun in Promenade Position, otherwise the same as A. C. 1-3 Quick Open Reverse As written in Quickstep section of the Ballroom Technique, this variant begins on the Man's LF forward and has three total steps. Timing As the Quick Open Reverse is a four step figure being adapted to ¾ time, Dancers must choose which beat they wish to syncopate. Citations We were unable to find a reference to the Quick Open Reverse (Waltz) in any printed medium save one: In the 3rd Edition of Alex Moore's Popular Variations - Waltz Variation #48, where it as listed as a "Quick Reverse" and is actually a Quick Open Reverse from PP. |
