Notes on the IDTA Syllabus

The syllabus to the left is the most recent iteration, taken from the
Professional and Amateur Dance Syllabus published by the IDTA,
last amended in February 2010. All competitions prescribing the
IDTA syllabus use this list of figures.

Competitors should always check which step list they must
adhere to. We cannot be held responsible for reprimands or
disqualifications based on following an incorrect list. Unlike the ISTD
syllabus, we have had to leave the Additional Figures to the end due to
the fact that there is no indication at which level they are to be danced.

A note on Syllabus Amalgamations
For figures 13 through 20, the syllabus can produce the false impression
that these are the only permissible combinations. In reality, the Cross
Hesitation, Wing and Weave from PP are allowed from any Promenade
Position. For the sake of clarity, here is each step pattern listed
individually:

13. Closed Telemark
14. Open Telemark
15. Open Impetus
16. Wing
17. Cross Hesitation
18. Weave from PP
19. Whisk ended Diagonal Center (see individual notes)
