Title: Cross Hesitation
Level: Silver (ISTD), (IDTA)
Rotation: Up to ¼ to Left
A note on Syllabus Amalgamations
In both the ISTD and the IDTA syllabi, the Cross Hesitation is listed in conjunction with the Open Telemark and Open Impetus. This makes very good sense when writing a technique book, because the Cross Hesitation
can then be examined from two different starting positions. The drawback
is that it makes these two entry figures appear to be the only ones permissible. Since we are an atlas of ballroom steps and not a technique book, our aim is to break each amalgamation into its smallest usable parts.
Video Example 1
-15A shows a Cross Hesitation without rotation.
-15B shows a Cross Hesitation with a ¼ turn to Left.
Video Example 2
Victor Veyrasset and Heather Smith demonstrate the
Open Impetus and the Cross Hesitation.
