Notes
The Backward Passing Changes are not part of the ISTD or IDTA syllabi. They are listed in the Associate Syllabus (Bronze) of our 1966 edition of The Revised Technique by Alex Moore, and together with the Double Natural Spin, are the only two figures that have been removed from the Waltz. The Backward Passing Changes consist of three steps Backwards for the Man (Lady: Forwards) and were originally designed to follow 1-3 Natural Turn and 1-3 Reverse Turn respectively. Amount of Turn The charts for the Backward Passing Changes list the amount of turn as 1/8. However, several of the advanced amalgamations listed a rotation of 1/4. Nomenclature The Backward Passing Change Natural to Reverse is also referred to as LF Backward Passing Change, and the Backward Passing Change Reverse to Natural is also referred to as the RF Backward Passing Change. |
