Notes
The current edition of Alex Moore's The Ballroom Technique lists "Methods of Preceding any Promenade Figure" in the introductory page of the Tango chapter. While the majority of this list consists of Four Step, Contra Check et al., it also features three methods not diagrammed elsewhere in the Technique Book. For easier reference, we have dubbed them according to the figure that precedes them. PP from RF Walk: Man takes RF Walk forward and places LF side without weight turning Lady to PP, counting (&). PP from Closed Finish: Man keeps feet in place and turns Lady to PP after the last step, counting (&). PP from Open Finish: Man places LF to side without weight turning Lady to PP, counting (&). As far as we can tell, the only book to list these alternate entries separately is Alex Moore's The Ballroom Technique. In Guy Howard's The Tango and Basic Principles, the only reference we found was PP from RF Walk taken after a Progressive Side Step. |
