Level: Silver (ISTD); Gold (IDTA) Timing: (SQQQQQQ) Rotation: ¾ to Right and ¼ to Left Title: Hover Cross from PP Level: (-) (ISTD); Gold (IDTA) Timing: (SQQQQQQ) Rotation: ¾ to Right and ¼ to Left |
Notes
The Hover Cross is listed as Silver in the ISTD syllabus and Gold in the IDTA step list. In our 1966 edition of the Revised Technique by Alex Moore, it is part of the Named Variations (Gold), suggesting its popularity has caused it to rise from a variation to a core Foxtrot figure. The Hover Cross is one of two figures that include a Feather Finish commenced Outside Partner on the Left Side – the other is the Natural Zig Zag from PP. Lady's Head Position The Hover Cross is one of the few figures that make note of the Lady's Head Position. The Ballroom Technique notes the "Lady may turn her head to Right on Steps 4-5." The Foxtrot and Basic Principles writes "Lady's Head turns to Right on Steps 4-5." IDTA Note The Foxtrot and Basic Principles notes the Hover Cross may start in PP. In this case, the Lady will omit her Heel Turn. |
