Title: The Box
Level: (-) Timing: (SSSQQS) Rotation: Up to ⅜ turn to Left |
Notes
The Box is not part of the current ISTD or IDTA syllabi. It is listed in the Members' Syllabus (Silver) of our 1955 and 1966 editions of The Revised Technique by Alex Moore, and was removed at some point before the 8th Edition of 1976. The Box and the Natural Zig-Zag remain the only Foxtrot figures to have been excised from the ISTD syllabus. The Box is an example of Ballroom's origins in social dancing, and as such should be viewed more historically than competitively. It consists of the following: 1-3 Open Reverse Turn (SSS) begun facing LOD and turning ¼ to Left – into – Feather Finish (QQS) underturned ⅛ to face DC against LOD. |
