Notes The Outside Change is taken from Waltz Syllabus and has been adapted for use in the Quickstep. It is featured primarily in the V6 amalgamation, where it is used to link a Back Lock (Man backing Diagonal Center) into a Forward Lock (towards Diagonal Wall). The Outside Change is also often danced following a Progressive Chassé to Right ended with Man backing LOD or DC.
The Outside Change is not listed individually in the Ballroom Technique: Alex Moore uses "6-12 of a V6" as a shorthand for the Outside Change in the Precedes and Follows of other figures. By contrast, the Quickstep and Basic Principles lists it under 'Additional Figures,' and does not specify at which level it is to be danced.
