Notes
The Tipple Chassé to Right is a natural turning Chassé action that begins with a backward movement for the Man (forward for the Lady). It is most commonly danced in conjunction with 2-4 Forward Lock, although other endings, such as 2-4 Tipple Chassé to Left, Tipsy to Left, or Rumba Cross are also possible. Tipple Chassé to Right at a Corner / Along Side of Room Both the Ballroom Technique and the Quickstep and Basic Principles provide two alternate alignments for the Tipple Chassé to Right. The first is situated at a Corner, and the second along the Side of the Room. Both of these may be underturned (see Underturned Tipple Chassé to Right below).
The Underturned Tipple Chassé to Right The Ballroom Technique specifically mentions the possibility of underturning the Tipple Chassé to Right, and the alignments for this have been outlined above. However, it is important to highlight the character of this figure: "Step 4 will then be taken to the side. Knees will flex to check the turn." The subsequent figure – most often 2-4 Forward Lock – will then be taken towards Diagonal Center. 2-4 Tipple Chassé to Right On occasion, such as after a Tipple Chassé to Left, Tipsy to Left, or Rumba Cross, the Tipple Chassé to Right will begin on the second step. |
